Bastien Tronchon: "I wanted to start my career "at home

"I am very happy to sign a three-year contract with the AG2R CITROËN team. It was my goal this season. Vincent (Lavenu) has been following me since my first years of cycling at La Motte Servolex Cyclisme. After going through the entire training program, I wanted to start my professional career "at home".
My broken collarbone in mid-May was perhaps a blessing in disguise. I was very well accompanied during my convalescence and then I quickly managed to get good results like my stage win at the Tour of Burgos.
Becoming a professional is just a step. I've got three years to prove myself and I'm keen to confirm what I've shown since the start of my internship with the AG2R CITROËN team.
At the beginning of 2023, my schedule will be adapted to allow me to finish my STAPS degree. It is important to validate this degree before devoting myself 100% to cycling.
I can't wait to start this new adventure and join a group with guys I know well. I also want to discover the World Tour level and take a new step this winter to be able to perform there."[/su_quote] [su_quote cite=Vincent Lavenu]

Vincent Lavenu: "A fair reward

"It's a fair reward for Bastien (Tronchon) but also for the whole training program. I've been following him since he was a little boy when he was in the cycling school at La Motte Servolex Cyclisme. He has gone through all the stages, from the AG2R CITROËN U19 team to the AG2R CITROËN U23 team and then to the AG2R CITROËN team, he is a pure product.
We will first try to get him to finish his university course to validate the work started by the training center. We have discussed this with the sports directors and we will adapt his program according to his midterms.
Bastien has shown that he has the level to go to the next level with very good results at the highest amateur level and his magnificent stage win at the Tour of Burgos which marked the spirits. We look forward to seeing him join the AG2R CITROËN team for the next three seasons."[/su_quote]
