It was a Tour de France with no downtime, no time to rest. We had to fight hard and not give up. I will keep in memory the stage of Châtel and this success so important after all that I had gone through. It wasn't easy to take on the role of leader after Ben O'Connor's retirement, but I fought to take up the challenge. Then I tried to take my chances, to go in a breakaway as it was the case in the stage of Mende but I did not succeed.
