Ben O'Connor: "Very pleased with my day
"I felt good. It suits me better when there are several climbs. We made the race harder with the AG2R CITROËN team, which was even better for me. Thanks to the guys for their work today. With the altitude, I wanted to manage my climb to never go over the limit. I wanted to stay on the wheel of Remco (Evenepoel) because it wasn't my job to work. Primoz (Roglic) passed in the final, it was hard to follow him, I gave my best. Congratulations to Arensman for his victory. We tried to limit the gap to him but he did a great stage. I am still very satisfied with my day."[/su_quote]
The number: 9
After fifteen stages of the Vuelta a Espana, Ben O'Connor is ninth overall. "Ben (O'Connor) puts in a great performance on that Sierra Nevada climb which is one of the highlights of the Vuelta a Espana. We rode during the stage to limit the gaps with the breakaway where there were guys in the top 20 overall. We will be able to approach this final week with more serenity and look forward to continuing to make up places in the overall classification," said Julien Jurdie, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team.
News: Tour du Doubs : Clément Venturini sixth
Clément Venturini took sixth place in the Tour du Doubs. "The AG2R CITROËN team was represented in all the important moves of the day. Benoît (Cosnefroy) made the difference with the best on the last climb, but a second group including Clément (Venturini) made the connection on the descent. In the sprint, Clément did not find the opening to do better than sixth. It's a shame because he missed the opportunity to take the lead of the French Cup. Nevertheless, we will remember the team's very good performance today", said Jean-Baptiste Quiclet, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team.
