BENOIT COSNEFROY: "A great team to take over

"We were always in the right motion. Collectively, we started the race the way we wanted to. We controlled things. I attacked on the route des crêtes after good work from Quentin Jaurégui and François Bidard. The race started well. I knew I had very good legs and behind me we had Clément Venturini, who was able to control the peloton. We had a lot of cards, so we might as well have had an unbridled race. In the final, I was perhaps more wary of Tom Devriendt.
He is a friend of Oliver (Naesen), I met him this winter in Spain during training and I know he has a good speed. I spent three weeks in training in January, my goals are further away but I wanted to win in February.
I wanted to launch my season, that of the team. Now we're heading for Bessèges, where we can be ambitious"[/su_quote].

Benoît Cosnefroy won for the first time the opening event of the French calendar. He also signs the first success of the season for the AG2R LA MONDIALE team. At 24 years old, the 2017 Under 23 World Champion has seven professional wins.
