Benoit Cosnefroy: "You have to know how to recover

"After my crash the day before, even if I didn't have any consequences other than burns, I wasn't in a condition to aim for anything other than the stage win.
On Saturday night, we decided to keep our heads down because you have to let your body recover. It was the best option not to take too many risks and jeopardize the next stages, even if I was only three seconds behind in the general standings. It's a shame because the team was at the top every day.
That makes a sixth second place this season. That's a lot and I'm looking forward to winning. I'm hoping for the Tour de Suisse, my next race."

Chérel 23rd overall at the Giro d'Italia

Mikaël Chérel finished 23rd overall in the Giro d'Italia.
"Of the sixteen grand tours I have ridden, this is one of the three most physically difficult. The course was very mountainous. I am satisfied with the physical level I showed", says Mikaël Chérel.
"At the start of this Giro d'Italia, our ambition was to be in the top 20 of the general classification. We are not far from it with Mikael Chérel's 23rd place.
I am satisfied with the general behavior of riders. We were present in twelve breakaways out of nineteen stages, some of which went all the way. We scored six top 10 finishes, with Lawrence Naesen (1 time) and Andrea Vendrame (5 times). The overall result is satisfactory, we had a young AG2R CITROËN team that was active in the race," said Laurent Biondi, sports manager for the AG2R CITROËN team.
