Aurélien Paret-Peintre

"A perfect way to round off the team's wonderful week".

"I knew I was one of the fastest riders in the group. I caught the right wave at the right time, then started the sprint at 200 meters. I saw right away that I was the strongest, so I didn't look back until the line. I'm happy to win here, and this victory is a perfect way to round off the team's great week, with Ben (O'Connor) also finishing second overall. We've got some good automatisms this week, which validates the work done during the Etna training camp. We're a good group and everyone's working well together. We're going to keep up the momentum and hope to bring home some wins at the Giro."

The news

"I'm proud of everyone

We can be very pleased that we raced at the front, were aggressive and had probably the strongest team in the race today, so I'm proud of everyone. Aurélien's victory is really superb, he worked hard for me and then he took his chance too, so a big bravo to him. Now I'm going to take care of myself over the next two weeks, absorb all the work that's been done and go to the Giro with ambition.
