"This race was my goal at the beginning of the season with its arrival where everyone gives 100%. Second place in a classic race means a lot.
The year has been turned upside down and it was not a certainty to arrive there in shape. After the Tour de France, I was under pressure and I kept myself in shape.
The whole team was focused on me during the whole race. It was crazy. We took responsibility. In the last wall, Alexis Vuillermoz did the work to place me. Then I gave it my all and managed my climb to the front to control my effort.

Benoît Cosnefroy's second place in the Flèche Wallonne is his first podium in a UCI WorldTour classic. This year, he won the general classification of the Etoile de Béssèges, the fourth stage of the Route d'Occitanie and the GP La Marseillaise. He wore the best climber jersey in the Tour de France for fifteen days.

No serious injury to Oliver Naesen
Oliver Naesen had a fall on Tuesday in the final stage of the Binck Bank Tour and underwent an MRI of his right knee on Tuesday evening. He has a large hematoma inside the knee capsule. A decision will be made based on the evolution of the pain as to whether he will continue to race.
