" The most beautiful victory of my career

"This is the most beautiful victory of my career. When you look at the record of the Flèche Brabançonne. There are only great riders who have won. This success comes after a really difficult race because of the weather. There were no moments of respite. The team rode all day to settle the race. Then, I followed the attacks with 50 kilometers to go. I felt that I had a very good feeling and that a sprint finish in a small group could be to my advantage. That's what happened. This victory is good for my morale. Even if I had some difficult moments, I never gave up. To share this podium with Benoît (Cosnefroy) is the icing on the cake. It doesn't happen every day so I want to savor it. This day is the perfect start to our Ardennes classics campaign. We should continue with this same state of mind by taking our responsibilities. We showed today that it pays off.

third success of the season
for the AG2R CITROËN team

After the success ofAurélien Paret-Peintre on the third stage of the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var and Nans Peters on the Trofeo Laigueglia, Dorian Godon brings the AG2R CITROËN team its third victory of the season.
I'm really happy after this victory," said Cyril Dessel, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team. Dorian (Godon) drove the perfect race. He was able to take advantage of all the work done by his team-mates from the start. We also knew that on this type of circuit, it was very difficult for a pack to make up time and reverse the trends. His victory is a reward for all his efforts. The third place of Benoît (Cosnefroy) crowns this beautiful day. He had launched the hostilities at 60 kilometers from the finish to decant the scenario and knew how to get the podium with malice. This is good for his confidence before the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday and the rest of the Ardennes classics.
