Pierre Gautherat: "A nice achievement

"Going professional is a dream come true, especially in a French UCI WorldTeam like the AG2R CITROËN team. After two years (2020 and 2021) in the AG2R CITROËN U19 team and after a year in the amateurs concluded by a training period in the AG2R CITROËN team, it's a nice realization. But it is only a step and I hope to go and get other childhood dreams like winning big races or participating in the Tour de France.
My internship with the team went very well. I was able to take part in some great events and the work done for the team has already helped me get over the hump. These marks taken this season will make me gain time for next year.
The classics in the Flanders region are a dream for me. Learning from riders like Greg Van Avermaet or Oliver Naesen is great for me. In the last few weeks, I have seen that we are in very good conditions to progress and that the atmosphere in the team is very good.
In 2023, I will have two objectives: to continue to learn and progress but also to validate my diploma (BTS Electrotechnics). This is important to me and I am lucky to have the support of my high school to carry out this dual project."[/su_quote] [su_quote cite=Vincent Lavenu]

Vincent Lavenu: "Physical abilities and an impeccable state of mind

"We have been following Pierre for a few years, especially during his two seasons with the AG2R CITROËN U19 team. He is a boy who showed us his abilities and his precociousness on the physical level despite his young age. His training course with the AG2R CITROËN team proved that he was at the level of his first year.
Adding to this the irreproachable state of mind he has shown with the team in recent weeks, Pierre has convinced us to give him his chance in 2023.
In the same way as Bastien Tronchon, he will have an adapted and thoughtful program at the beginning of the season in order to let him finish his studies. It is essential to finish the dual project work initiated by our training program."[/su_quote]
