Paul Lapeira

" This jersey, I'm going to hang it on the wall "

"I'm going to hang this jersey on the wall. Getting into the breakaway was part of the plan this morning at the start of the stage. I have good speed so I knew I could fight for the best climber's jersey. I knew the guys who were with me at the front well, especially Thomas Champion who also lives in Chambéry (Savoie). I quickly understood that it could be done and I did everything I could to pass the two lines in the lead, I am very happy. A distinctive jersey for my first grand tour, that's great! I'm going to take full advantage of it. These are things that don't happen often in a career."
