"I've been resting a bit since the end of the Giro d'Italia but I didn't completely cut back like I did last year after my first grand tour. I wanted to test a new approach by racing some other races quickly. I think it's good to keep the pace.
The desire is still there and I can't wait to see what the feeling will be like on Sunday.
These are two events that I know well. They follow the routes of the most beautiful classics and remind us of the beginning of the season. With my broken collarbone at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, I was frustrated to miss most of these races and so I'm even more motivated."[/su_quote]

Lawrence Naesen took seventh place in the Brussels Cycling Classic in 2020. This will be his fifth appearance in the Belgian event.
