"The time trial was difficult, there was a lot of wind. We were getting swept from right to left, but you had to hold the bike steady and push hard on the pedals. I got off to a fast start, as there was a headwind at the start and then a side wind. In terms of power, I rode a very decent time trial, so I couldn't have done much better today. I'm happy to be in the top 10, I've honoured my French time trial champion's jersey."

Aurélien Paret-Peintre finished seventh on stage six of the Tour of Poland, in the same group as winner Thibau Nys and leader Jonas Vingegaard. The Haut-Savoyard moved up three places in the overall classification, where he now occupies thirteenth position on the eve of the final finish. This is Bruno Armirail's sixth top 10 time trial finish of the season: prior to today's ninth place, he won the French championship in June, finished fifth in the Tour de Romandie time trial in April, eighth in the Paris-Nice time trial in March, eighth in the Critérium du Dauphiné time trial in June and ninth in the UAE Tour time trial in February.
